Chaotic Congress

Partisan politics is rapidly becoming the downfall of our great nation. Internal squabbles and infighting within parties have become the daily news. Both parties are doing the same thing, but right now, I suspect the Republican party has the lead. In the news today, the Republicans cannot find enough evidence to impeach President Biden, so they are being creative and sending a symbolic request for a criminal investigation to the Department of Justice. I’m sorry, but symbolic messages cost money; in this case, it will be our money as taxpayers.

For example, this topic was taking place while they are trying to find a compromise on a $1.2 Trillion spending bill that would avoid a government shutdown on 3/23/24. The exciting part was that, as expected, they had roughly 24 hours to review a 1,012-page bill to stop the shutdown. How many actually read the entire bill, and how much unnecessary waste was buried in it?

In the real world of American politics, the legislative branch must play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future. However, amidst its crucial duties, Congress often finds itself embroiled in internal squabbles, diverting precious resources and attention from pressing national issues.
