Ten Reasons I Reject Dystopian Theories

Many today look at the situation and put a dystopian spin on everything, coupled with juicy conspiracy theories lurking around every corner. People seem more inclined to believe this rhetoric because no unifying leaders can provide reasonable, workable, or practical answers. I reject dystopian theories for many reasons, from philosophical perspectives to human resilience and progress observations.

Also, being proactive and protopian, humans can respond and correct problems if and when they can come together. The key is whether we will do it soon enough that it can make a difference in the future.

Here are my ten reasons why I reject dystopian theories:

  1. Human Resilience: History is filled with examples of human resilience in adversity. People have consistently overcome challenges, suggesting a capacity to avoid dystopian futures through adaptation and innovation. Some have been personal, others community-based, and others global. However, we also need to understand that some of the stories may be exaggerated, embellished, or fabricated, so the primary goal is to understand the context based on the culture, time frame, and known capabilities present during the story’s life.
